BIM Execution Plan
BIM Execution Plan
About BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
A BIM Execution Plan is essential in Building Information Modelling (BIM) projects and workflows. It outlines how BIM Information management processes will be executed, managed and delivered. The BEP serves as a guide to ensure that all parties involved in the project are on the same page, understand their roles and responsibilities, and adhere to the required BIM protocols and information deliverables.
In an ideal scenario, a BIM Execution Plan (BEP) directly addresses the employer’s exchange information requirements (EIR) and is developed through collaborative efforts from the delivery team. This can be both pre and post-tender. However, each project and team may differ significantly in their BIM goals, deliverables, and digital maturity. In some cases, there may not be well-defined exchange information requirements from the employer however a BIM execution plan can still be a great way to ensure you document the best practices and details that your organisation and project collaborators should follow.
At Baker Baynes, we assist our clients by co-creating a tailored BIM Execution Plan. As a response to an EIR, for a project team or as an internal best practice document. This collaborative approach enables us to develop BEPs that are either project-specific or customised templates that can be adjusted to fit the unique needs of each project/organisation.
Our BEP Creation covers all the recommended aspects of a BIM execution plan according to ISO/SANS 19650.

Why Do We Co-Create BEPs with Our Clients?
To develop a BIM Execution Plan (BEP) that is tailored and effectively implemented, a collaborative creation process is essential. Co-creating the BEP involves active participation from all parties—Baker Baynes, our clients, and project stakeholders. This approach leverages the diverse skills, insights, and expertise of each participant to produce a customized and actionable plan that is both relevant and adhered to throughout the project.
